Frograil Reincarnated

The original Frograil site started on February of 1998 when Tony Hill posted his railfan location guide on his local ISP's hosting space. In February, 2000, he transferred the site to the brand new Frograil.com domain.

In about 2000 or 2001, Tony and Henry Mikus were contributing sites along the NS, ex-Southern Railway, Piedmont Division mainline. Henry suggested they put the sites into the form of a "tour," whereby a complete stranger to the area could begin at point A, drive to point B, and then onward. That grew to a respectable collection of tours that are within 17 states.

On September 28, 2011, Tony announced in several railfan groups, "As of October 20th, the Frograil domain will no longer be on the internet." There was concern that the material collected over the years would be lost, so the railfan community rallied and this site is the result.

On October 4, 2011, he announced to various rail lists that he had worked out an agreeement where he would tranfer his site and the domain name to me, Bruce Harper, so his work would be preserved and carried on into the future. After many nights and weekends of tweaking code, here is the new site with a new look and feel. The content remains the same, though, so I am looking for any ideas or suggestions about how to make things better or things to add. Let me know, or if anyone wants to help, I'll accept that, too. Drop a note to webmaster@frograil.com and I'll take it from there.
